How do we plan the job?
The survey for salon and barber shop fit-out in Edinburgh covers measurements, service capacity, access for deliveries and any planning or building control points.
In and around Edinburgh we are usually asked to work on cafés, takeaways and independent restaurants and showrooms and trade counters.
What is included?
- Styling stations with mirrors and power
- Backwash units with hot water and drainage
- Reception desk and retail display
- Treatment rooms and partitions
- Towel and colour dispensary
What should Edinburgh owners check first?
- Backwash units need hot water capacity sized for several basins running together.
- Treatment rooms offering special procedures may need a local authority licence.
- Hair traps on backwash drainage save costly blockages.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
