How is the work priced?
Every bespoke shop joinery and counters quote for Edinburgh lists each element separately, so you can see what the layout, joinery, services and finishes each cost.
In and around Edinburgh we are usually asked to work on showrooms and trade counters and boutiques and independent retailers.
What is included?
- Wall units and shelving
- Laminate, veneer and painted finishes
- Delivery and installation
- Workshop drawings for approval
- Counters and cash desks
What should Edinburgh owners check first?
- Counters should include a lowered section for wheelchair users.
- Hard-wearing edges matter more than the face finish on busy counters.
- Allow time for drawing approval before manufacture starts.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
