A shop refurbishment updates an existing unit: new finishes, lighting, fixtures and layout, from a light refresh while you trade to a full strip-out and refit.

Typical guide price£150–£450per m², ex VAT. Fixed price after survey.

Why does it matter?

Most shops need a refresh every few years to keep up with competitors. We work out what can be kept, what needs replacing, and the fastest way to do it with the least lost trade.

What is included?

  • Condition survey of the existing fit-out
  • Strip-out and waste removal
  • Redecoration and new finishes
  • Lighting upgrade to LED
  • Replacement fixtures and counters
  • Flooring replacement

What should you check before you start?

  • Older units may contain asbestos; a refurbishment survey is needed before strip-out.
  • Switching to LED lighting cuts running costs and heat load.
  • Reusing sound fixtures can take a large slice off the cost.

How do we price it?

We survey the unit first, then give you an itemised, fixed price with a dated programme. The range above is a starting guide; your survey confirms the real figure, including access, services and any landlord or planning conditions.

Questions people ask

How much does a shop refit cost?

A redecoration and lighting upgrade sits at the low end of our range; a full strip-out and refit at the top. We itemise the quote so you can choose.

Do you need an asbestos survey?

For buildings built before 2000, a refurbishment and demolition survey is needed before strip-out. We can arrange it.

Can the shop stay open?

For lighter refreshes, yes, with out-of-hours working. Full refits usually need a short closure.
