Shop refurbishment and refit for Dalkeith businesses
From the first measured survey to the day you open, our shop refurbishment and refit work in Dalkeith is planned around your lease, your landlord and your trading hours.
A shop refurbishment updates an existing unit: new finishes, lighting, fixtures and layout, from a light refresh while you trade to a full strip-out and refit.
How do we plan the job?
Before we price shop refurbishment and refit in Dalkeith, we check the lease, the landlord's fit-out rules, the existing services and how materials can get into the unit.
In and around Dalkeith we are usually asked to work on boutiques and independent retailers and pharmacies and healthcare premises.

What should Dalkeith owners check first?
- Reusing sound fixtures can take a large slice off the cost.
- Older units may contain asbestos; a refurbishment survey is needed before strip-out.
- Switching to LED lighting cuts running costs and heat load.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
