Shop refurbishment and refit in Livingston
We carry out shop refurbishment and refit in Livingston and the surrounding parts of Lothian, managing every trade from strip-out to a clean handover.
A shop refurbishment updates an existing unit: new finishes, lighting, fixtures and layout, from a light refresh while you trade to a full strip-out and refit.
What happens at the survey?
Every shop refurbishment and refit quote for Livingston lists each element separately, so you can see what the layout, joinery, services and finishes each cost.
In and around Livingston we are usually asked to work on shopping centre units and retail park stores and showrooms and trade counters.
What is included?
- Redecoration and new finishes
- Lighting upgrade to LED
- Replacement fixtures and counters
- Flooring replacement
- Condition survey of the existing fit-out
What should Livingston owners check first?
- Switching to LED lighting cuts running costs and heat load.
- Reusing sound fixtures can take a large slice off the cost.
- Older units may contain asbestos; a refurbishment survey is needed before strip-out.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
