Shop refurbishment and refit for Musselburgh businesses
From the first measured survey to the day you open, our shop refurbishment and refit work in Musselburgh is planned around your lease, your landlord and your trading hours.
A shop refurbishment updates an existing unit: new finishes, lighting, fixtures and layout, from a light refresh while you trade to a full strip-out and refit.
How is the work priced?
For Musselburgh jobs we confirm loading and parking arrangements early, because access often shapes the programme as much as the build itself.
In and around Musselburgh we are usually asked to work on shopping centre units and retail park stores and convenience stores and off-licences.
What is included?
- Condition survey of the existing fit-out
- Strip-out and waste removal
- Redecoration and new finishes
- Lighting upgrade to LED
- Replacement fixtures and counters
What should Musselburgh owners check first?
- Older units may contain asbestos; a refurbishment survey is needed before strip-out.
- Switching to LED lighting cuts running costs and heat load.
- Reusing sound fixtures can take a large slice off the cost.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
