How do we plan the job?

What is included?
- Lighting upgrade to LED
- Replacement fixtures and counters
- Flooring replacement
- Condition survey of the existing fit-out
- Strip-out and waste removal
What should Thurso owners check first?
- Older units may contain asbestos; a refurbishment survey is needed before strip-out.
- Switching to LED lighting cuts running costs and heat load.
- Reusing sound fixtures can take a large slice off the cost.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
