Salon and barber shop fit-out for Thurso businesses
We carry out salon and barber shop fit-out in Thurso and the surrounding parts of Highland, managing every trade from strip-out to a clean handover.
A salon fit-out builds styling stations, backwash areas, reception, retail display and any treatment rooms, with the hot water, drainage and power each station needs.
What happens at the survey?
The survey for salon and barber shop fit-out in Thurso covers measurements, service capacity, access for deliveries and any planning or building control points.
In and around Thurso we are usually asked to work on pharmacies and healthcare premises and cafés, takeaways and independent restaurants.
What is included?
- Lighting that flatters skin tones
- Styling stations with mirrors and power
- Backwash units with hot water and drainage
- Reception desk and retail display
- Treatment rooms and partitions
What should Thurso owners check first?
- Treatment rooms offering special procedures may need a local authority licence.
- Hair traps on backwash drainage save costly blockages.
- Backwash units need hot water capacity sized for several basins running together.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
