How is the work priced?
Before we price bespoke shop joinery and counters in Kelso, we check the lease, the landlord's fit-out rules, the existing services and how materials can get into the unit.
In and around Kelso we are usually asked to work on pharmacies and healthcare premises and cafés, takeaways and independent restaurants.
What is included?
- Counters and cash desks
- Display cabinets, lockable and lit
- Wall units and shelving
- Laminate, veneer and painted finishes
- Delivery and installation
What should Kelso owners check first?
- Hard-wearing edges matter more than the face finish on busy counters.
- Allow time for drawing approval before manufacture starts.
- Counters should include a lowered section for wheelchair users.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
