How do we plan the job?
Before we price bespoke shop joinery and counters in Musselburgh, we check the lease, the landlord's fit-out rules, the existing services and how materials can get into the unit.
In and around Musselburgh we are usually asked to work on boutiques and independent retailers and showrooms and trade counters.
What is included?
- Workshop drawings for approval
- Counters and cash desks
- Display cabinets, lockable and lit
- Wall units and shelving
- Laminate, veneer and painted finishes
What should Musselburgh owners check first?
- Allow time for drawing approval before manufacture starts.
- Counters should include a lowered section for wheelchair users.
- Hard-wearing edges matter more than the face finish on busy counters.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
