Aluminium shopfronts in Peebles
We carry out aluminium shopfronts in Peebles and the surrounding parts of the Scottish Borders, managing every trade from strip-out to a clean handover.
An aluminium shopfront is the glazed frame, doors and stallriser that make up the front of a shop, made to measure in powder-coated aluminium with toughened or laminated safety glass.
What happens at the survey?
Before we price aluminium shopfronts in Peebles, we check the lease, the landlord's fit-out rules, the existing services and how materials can get into the unit.
In and around Peebles we are usually asked to work on pharmacies and healthcare premises and high street units and corner shops.
What is included?
- Toughened or laminated safety glass
- Single, double or automatic doors
- Level threshold and accessible door handles
- Stallriser and fascia panel
- Measured survey of the opening
What should Peebles owners check first?
- Entrance doors should give a clear opening width that suits wheelchair users.
- Laminated glass holds together if broken, which helps security.
- A new shopfront usually needs planning permission, and more in a conservation area.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
