Aluminium shopfronts contractors in Thurso
Owners opening or refreshing a unit in Thurso use our aluminium shopfronts service to get one contract, one programme and one point of contact.
An aluminium shopfront is the glazed frame, doors and stallriser that make up the front of a shop, made to measure in powder-coated aluminium with toughened or laminated safety glass.
How do we plan the job?
Before we price aluminium shopfronts in Thurso, we check the lease, the landlord's fit-out rules, the existing services and how materials can get into the unit.
In and around Thurso we are usually asked to work on boutiques and independent retailers and shopping centre units and retail park stores.
What is included?
- Powder-coated aluminium frames in any RAL colour
- Toughened or laminated safety glass
- Single, double or automatic doors
- Level threshold and accessible door handles
- Stallriser and fascia panel
What should Thurso owners check first?
- Laminated glass holds together if broken, which helps security.
- A new shopfront usually needs planning permission, and more in a conservation area.
- Entrance doors should give a clear opening width that suits wheelchair users.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
