Aluminium shopfronts in St Andrews
We carry out aluminium shopfronts in St Andrews and the surrounding parts of Fife, managing every trade from strip-out to a clean handover.
An aluminium shopfront is the glazed frame, doors and stallriser that make up the front of a shop, made to measure in powder-coated aluminium with toughened or laminated safety glass.
How do we plan the job?
Before we price aluminium shopfronts in St Andrews, we check the lease, the landlord's fit-out rules, the existing services and how materials can get into the unit.
In and around St Andrews we are usually asked to work on convenience stores and off-licences and pharmacies and healthcare premises.
What is included?
- Powder-coated aluminium frames in any RAL colour
- Toughened or laminated safety glass
- Single, double or automatic doors
- Level threshold and accessible door handles
- Stallriser and fascia panel
What should St Andrews owners check first?
- A new shopfront usually needs planning permission, and more in a conservation area.
- Entrance doors should give a clear opening width that suits wheelchair users.
- Laminated glass holds together if broken, which helps security.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
