Shop refurbishment and refit contractors in St Andrews
We carry out shop refurbishment and refit in St Andrews and the surrounding parts of Fife, managing every trade from strip-out to a clean handover.
A shop refurbishment updates an existing unit: new finishes, lighting, fixtures and layout, from a light refresh while you trade to a full strip-out and refit.
How do we plan the job?
For St Andrews jobs we confirm loading and parking arrangements early, because access often shapes the programme as much as the build itself.
In and around St Andrews we are usually asked to work on salons, barbers and beauty clinics and convenience stores and off-licences.
What is included?
- Replacement fixtures and counters
- Flooring replacement
- Condition survey of the existing fit-out
- Strip-out and waste removal
- Redecoration and new finishes
What should St Andrews owners check first?
- Older units may contain asbestos; a refurbishment survey is needed before strip-out.
- Switching to LED lighting cuts running costs and heat load.
- Reusing sound fixtures can take a large slice off the cost.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
