What happens at the survey?
Before we price shop signage and fascias in St Andrews, we check the lease, the landlord's fit-out rules, the existing services and how materials can get into the unit.
In and around St Andrews we are usually asked to work on salons, barbers and beauty clinics and cafés, takeaways and independent restaurants.
What is included?
- Projecting and hanging signs
- Window vinyls and frosting
- Internal wayfinding
- Electrical connection and timers
- Fascia panels and trays
What should St Andrews owners check first?
- Illuminated signs normally need advertisement consent from the council.
- Conservation areas often restrict internally lit box signs.
- Signs over the pavement must have a safe clearance above the footway.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
