Shop refurbishment and refit in Dumfries
Need shop refurbishment and refit in Dumfries? We survey the unit, draw the layout with you and give a fixed, itemised price before anything is ordered.
A shop refurbishment updates an existing unit: new finishes, lighting, fixtures and layout, from a light refresh while you trade to a full strip-out and refit.
How do we plan the job?
Before we price shop refurbishment and refit in Dumfries, we check the lease, the landlord's fit-out rules, the existing services and how materials can get into the unit.
In and around Dumfries we are usually asked to work on boutiques and independent retailers and shopping centre units and retail park stores.
What is included?
- Condition survey of the existing fit-out
- Strip-out and waste removal
- Redecoration and new finishes
- Lighting upgrade to LED
- Replacement fixtures and counters
What should Dumfries owners check first?
- Older units may contain asbestos; a refurbishment survey is needed before strip-out.
- Switching to LED lighting cuts running costs and heat load.
- Reusing sound fixtures can take a large slice off the cost.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
