Shop refurbishment and refit contractors in Powys
We carry out shop refurbishment and refit throughout Powys, from Welshpool to Brecon. Every job starts with a measured survey and ends with a certified, trading-ready handover.
A shop refurbishment updates an existing unit: new finishes, lighting, fixtures and layout, from a light refresh while you trade to a full strip-out and refit.
What is shopfitting like in Powys?
In Powys we mostly see cafés, takeaways and independent restaurants and shopping centre units and retail park stores. Each has its own landlord rules, service loads and access limits, which we look at on the first visit.
Mid Wales market towns have compact high streets with traditional shopfronts, where planners generally expect sympathetic designs and materials.
What does the work include?
- Lighting upgrade to LED
- Replacement fixtures and counters
- Flooring replacement
- Condition survey of the existing fit-out
Planning and building control in Powys
In Wales, the Building Regulations are set by the Welsh Government and applied by local authority building control. Shopfronts, signs and extraction flues need checking with the local planning authority, and many Welsh towns have conservation areas with stricter rules on shopfront design.
- Switching to LED lighting cuts running costs and heat load.
- Reusing sound fixtures can take a large slice off the cost.
