Convenience store and supermarket fit-out contractors in Galashiels
We carry out convenience store and supermarket fit-out in Galashiels and the surrounding parts of the Scottish Borders, managing every trade from strip-out to a clean handover.
A convenience store fit-out lays out shelving, refrigeration, counters and security so a small footprint can carry a wide range and be run by one or two staff.
How do we plan the job?
For Galashiels jobs we confirm loading and parking arrangements early, because access often shapes the programme as much as the build itself.
In and around Galashiels we are usually asked to work on boutiques and independent retailers and shopping centre units and retail park stores.
What is included?
- Anti-slip commercial flooring
- Signage and price-ticket rails
- Gondola and wall shelving runs
- Chiller and freezer positions with dedicated power
- Counter with tobacco gantry and lottery space
What should Galashiels owners check first?
- Tobacco and vapes must be stored out of sight of customers, so the gantry needs closing doors or shutters.
- Refrigeration needs dedicated circuits and ventilation space; confirm the supply capacity before ordering chillers.
- Your premises licence plan may need updating if the alcohol display area changes.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
