Commercial shop flooring in Galashiels
Need commercial shop flooring in Galashiels? We survey the unit, draw the layout with you and give a fixed, itemised price before anything is ordered.
Commercial shop flooring is hard-wearing floor covering laid for heavy foot traffic: sheet vinyl, luxury vinyl tile, porcelain, resin and entrance matting.
What happens at the survey?
Before we price commercial shop flooring in Galashiels, we check the lease, the landlord's fit-out rules, the existing services and how materials can get into the unit.
In and around Galashiels we are usually asked to work on salons, barbers and beauty clinics and boutiques and independent retailers.
What is included?
- Resin and polished concrete
- Recessed entrance matting
- Anti-slip finishes for wet areas
- Subfloor survey and levelling
- Commercial sheet vinyl and LVT
What should Galashiels owners check first?
- Kitchens and wet areas need a higher slip resistance rating.
- A poor subfloor shows through thin vinyl; levelling is worth paying for.
- Entrance areas should have matting to stop rain being walked into the shop.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
