How do we plan the job?
The survey for takeaway and hot food fit-out in Peebles covers measurements, service capacity, access for deliveries and any planning or building control points.
In and around Peebles we are usually asked to work on cafés, takeaways and independent restaurants and showrooms and trade counters.
What is included?
- Wall cladding and coved flooring
- Delivery driver collection point
- Waste and grease management
- Serving counter with display and hot holding
- Kitchen line layout and stainless fabrication
What should Peebles owners check first?
- Odour control on the extraction is often a planning condition.
- Wall finishes must be smooth, washable and non-absorbent in food areas.
- Hot food takeaways need planning permission for the use class, and many councils restrict new takeaways near schools.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
