Suspended ceilings and partitions contractors in Eastbourne
We carry out suspended ceilings and partitions in Eastbourne and the surrounding parts of East Sussex, managing every trade from strip-out to a clean handover.
Suspended ceilings and partitions form the shell of a fit-out: grid or plasterboard ceilings that hide services, and stud walls that divide the sales floor, stockroom, office and toilets.
How do we plan the job?
Before we price suspended ceilings and partitions in Eastbourne, we check the lease, the landlord's fit-out rules, the existing services and how materials can get into the unit.
In and around Eastbourne we are usually asked to work on boutiques and independent retailers and shopping centre units and retail park stores.
What is included?
- Grid ceilings with lay-in tiles
- Plasterboard ceilings and bulkheads
- Metal stud partitions
- Fire-rated and acoustic walls
- Drylining of existing walls
What should Eastbourne owners check first?
- Grid ceilings give easy access to services; plasterboard looks cleaner.
- Stockroom walls should be built to take heavy racking fixings.
- Walls between a shop and a neighbouring unit or flat may need a fire rating.
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
