Shelving and display systems in Essex
If you are opening, moving or refreshing a unit in Essex, our shelving and display systems service covers the layout, the build and the paperwork, with work planned around your trading hours.
Shop shelving and display systems are the modular fixtures that hold stock: slatwall, gondola units, wall bays, glass shelving and pegboard, supplied and installed to a layout.
Working in Essex
In Essex we mostly see shopping centre units and retail park stores and showrooms and trade counters. Each has its own landlord rules, service loads and access limits, which we look at on the first visit.
The East of England mixes historic market towns with new town centres and retail parks, which means a shopfitter here is as likely to work on a listed frontage as on a modern shell unit.
What does the work include?
- Layout planning around your stock
- Slatwall and panel systems
- Gondola and wall bay shelving
- Glass and lit shelving
Planning and building control in Essex
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
- Check shelf load ratings against your heaviest products.
- Tall units must be fixed to the wall or linked to stop them tipping.
