Restaurant and café fit-out contractors in Ely
We carry out restaurant and café fit-out in Ely and the surrounding parts of Cambridgeshire, managing every trade from strip-out to a clean handover.
A restaurant or café fit-out covers the dining area, the service counter and the back-of-house kitchen, including the extraction, gas, drainage and hygiene finishes the kitchen needs.
How do we plan the job?
For Ely jobs we confirm loading and parking arrangements early, because access often shapes the programme as much as the build itself.
In and around Ely we are usually asked to work on showrooms and trade counters and boutiques and independent retailers.
What is included?
- Accessible toilet and baby change
- Service counter and back bar
- Banquettes, booths and loose seating layout
- Hygienic wall and floor finishes for kitchens
- Canopy, extraction and make-up air
What should Ely owners check first?
- Register your food business with the council at least 28 days before you start trading.
- A new extraction flue often needs planning permission, and odour and noise reports may be asked for.
- Kitchen gas work must be done and certified by a Gas Safe engineer registered for commercial catering.
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
Questions about restaurant and café fit-out in Ely
Do I need planning permission for a restaurant?
Change of use from shop to restaurant may need planning permission, and a new extraction flue usually does. We check the planning history during the survey.
Is the survey free in Ely?
Yes. We survey units in Ely and across Cambridgeshire free of charge, with no obligation.
How soon can work start in Ely?
Surveys are usually booked within one to two weeks. Your quote includes a start date and a dated programme.
How much does a café fit-out cost?
A small café refit without a new kitchen extraction system can start from the low end of our range. A full restaurant with new extraction and a commercial kitchen sits at the top. We price from a survey, not a guess.
