Aluminium shopfronts in Ely
Planning aluminium shopfronts in Ely? Start with a free survey; we check services, access and approvals, then price the job line by line.
An aluminium shopfront is the glazed frame, doors and stallriser that make up the front of a shop, made to measure in powder-coated aluminium with toughened or laminated safety glass.
What happens at the survey?
For Ely jobs we confirm loading and parking arrangements early, because access often shapes the programme as much as the build itself.
In and around Ely we are usually asked to work on cafés, takeaways and independent restaurants and pharmacies and healthcare premises.
What is included?
- Powder-coated aluminium frames in any RAL colour
- Toughened or laminated safety glass
- Single, double or automatic doors
- Level threshold and accessible door handles
- Stallriser and fascia panel
What should Ely owners check first?
- Entrance doors should give a clear opening width that suits wheelchair users.
- Laminated glass holds together if broken, which helps security.
- A new shopfront usually needs planning permission, and more in a conservation area.
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
