Commercial shop flooring is hard-wearing floor covering laid for heavy foot traffic: sheet vinyl, luxury vinyl tile, porcelain, resin and entrance matting.
What happens at the survey?
The survey for commercial shop flooring in Taunton covers measurements, service capacity, access for deliveries and any planning or building control points.
In and around Taunton we are usually asked to work on salons, barbers and beauty clinics and showrooms and trade counters.
What is included?
- Porcelain and ceramic tiling
- Resin and polished concrete
- Recessed entrance matting
- Anti-slip finishes for wet areas
- Subfloor survey and levelling
What should Taunton owners check first?
- Entrance areas should have matting to stop rain being walked into the shop.
- Kitchens and wet areas need a higher slip resistance rating.
- A poor subfloor shows through thin vinyl; levelling is worth paying for.
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
