Commercial shop flooring in Gwent
Our commercial shop flooring team works across Gwent and the wider South Wales, taking projects from first survey to final clean in towns including Cwmbran, Abergavenny, Pontypool.
Commercial shop flooring is hard-wearing floor covering laid for heavy foot traffic: sheet vinyl, luxury vinyl tile, porcelain, resin and entrance matting.
What is shopfitting like in Gwent?
Most enquiries we get from Gwent come from cafés, takeaways and independent restaurants or boutiques and independent retailers, and the survey is where we pick up the details that change the price.
South Wales town centres, from the capital to the valleys, have many older terraced shop units where fit-outs need careful work around existing structure and services.
What does the work include?
- Recessed entrance matting
- Anti-slip finishes for wet areas
- Subfloor survey and levelling
- Commercial sheet vinyl and LVT
Planning and building control in Gwent
In Wales, the Building Regulations are set by the Welsh Government and applied by local authority building control. Shopfronts, signs and extraction flues need checking with the local planning authority, and many Welsh towns have conservation areas with stricter rules on shopfront design.
- A poor subfloor shows through thin vinyl; levelling is worth paying for.
- Entrance areas should have matting to stop rain being walked into the shop.
