Aluminium shopfronts for Stevenage businesses
We carry out aluminium shopfronts in Stevenage and the surrounding parts of Hertfordshire, managing every trade from strip-out to a clean handover.
An aluminium shopfront is the glazed frame, doors and stallriser that make up the front of a shop, made to measure in powder-coated aluminium with toughened or laminated safety glass.
How is the work priced?
Before we price aluminium shopfronts in Stevenage, we check the lease, the landlord's fit-out rules, the existing services and how materials can get into the unit.
In and around Stevenage we are usually asked to work on high street units and corner shops and pharmacies and healthcare premises.
What is included?
- Single, double or automatic doors
- Level threshold and accessible door handles
- Stallriser and fascia panel
- Measured survey of the opening
- Powder-coated aluminium frames in any RAL colour
What should Stevenage owners check first?
- Laminated glass holds together if broken, which helps security.
- A new shopfront usually needs planning permission, and more in a conservation area.
- Entrance doors should give a clear opening width that suits wheelchair users.
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
