A takeaway fit-out is a compact commercial kitchen with a customer counter and a waiting area, built to food hygiene standards and with extraction that satisfies planning conditions.
How do we plan the job?
For Epsom jobs we confirm loading and parking arrangements early, because access often shapes the programme as much as the build itself.
In and around Epsom we are usually asked to work on pharmacies and healthcare premises and convenience stores and off-licences.
What is included?
- Kitchen line layout and stainless fabrication
- Extraction canopy and odour control
- Wall cladding and coved flooring
- Delivery driver collection point
- Waste and grease management
What should Epsom owners check first?
- Hot food takeaways need planning permission for the use class, and many councils restrict new takeaways near schools.
- Odour control on the extraction is often a planning condition.
- Wall finishes must be smooth, washable and non-absorbent in food areas.
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
Questions about takeaway and hot food fit-out in Epsom
How soon can work start in Epsom?
Surveys are usually booked within one to two weeks. Your quote includes a start date and a dated programme.
Do I need planning permission for a takeaway?
A hot food takeaway is its own use class, so converting a shop usually needs planning permission. We check before you commit to the lease.
What extraction does a takeaway need?
A canopy over cooking equipment, ductwork to a high-level discharge, a fan and usually odour filtration. The spec depends on what you cook.
