Takeaway and hot food fit-out for Maidstone businesses
Owners opening or refreshing a unit in Maidstone use our takeaway and hot food fit-out service to get one contract, one programme and one point of contact.
A takeaway fit-out is a compact commercial kitchen with a customer counter and a waiting area, built to food hygiene standards and with extraction that satisfies planning conditions.
What happens at the survey?
For Maidstone jobs we confirm loading and parking arrangements early, because access often shapes the programme as much as the build itself.
In and around Maidstone we are usually asked to work on showrooms and trade counters and cafés, takeaways and independent restaurants.
What is included?
- Extraction canopy and odour control
- Wall cladding and coved flooring
- Delivery driver collection point
- Waste and grease management
- Serving counter with display and hot holding
What should Maidstone owners check first?
- Odour control on the extraction is often a planning condition.
- Wall finishes must be smooth, washable and non-absorbent in food areas.
- Hot food takeaways need planning permission for the use class, and many councils restrict new takeaways near schools.
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
