Owners opening or refreshing a unit in Alnwick use our suspended ceilings and partitions service to get one contract, one programme and one point of contact.
Suspended ceilings and partitions form the shell of a fit-out: grid or plasterboard ceilings that hide services, and stud walls that divide the sales floor, stockroom, office and toilets.
What happens at the survey?
Every suspended ceilings and partitions quote for Alnwick lists each element separately, so you can see what the layout, joinery, services and finishes each cost.
In and around Alnwick we are usually asked to work on shopping centre units and retail park stores and boutiques and independent retailers.
What is included?
- Drylining of existing walls
- Access hatches and making good
- Grid ceilings with lay-in tiles
- Plasterboard ceilings and bulkheads
- Metal stud partitions
What should Alnwick owners check first?
- Grid ceilings give easy access to services; plasterboard looks cleaner.
- Stockroom walls should be built to take heavy racking fixings.
- Walls between a shop and a neighbouring unit or flat may need a fire rating.
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
