What happens at the survey?

For Dorchester jobs we confirm loading and parking arrangements early, because access often shapes the programme as much as the build itself.

In and around Dorchester we are usually asked to work on boutiques and independent retailers and showrooms and trade counters.

What is included?

Metal stud partitions
Fire-rated and acoustic walls
Drylining of existing walls
Access hatches and making good
Grid ceilings with lay-in tiles

What should Dorchester owners check first?

Stockroom walls should be built to take heavy racking fixings.
Walls between a shop and a neighbouring unit or flat may need a fire rating.
Grid ceilings give easy access to services; plasterboard looks cleaner.

In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
