Showroom fit-out contractors in Devon
Our showroom fit-out team works across Devon and the wider South West, taking projects from first survey to final clean in towns including Exmouth, Exeter, Plymouth.
A showroom fit-out creates a space where products are shown in use, with room sets, plinths, lighting and a sales area for sitting down with customers.
What is shopfitting like in Devon?
In Devon we mostly see showrooms and trade counters and salons, barbers and beauty clinics. Each has its own landlord rules, service loads and access limits, which we look at on the first visit.
South West high streets rely heavily on independent and seasonal trade, especially in coastal towns, so fit-outs are often scheduled to finish before the spring and summer season.
What does the work include?
- Plinths, podiums and product walls
- Feature and scene lighting
- Services to working displays
- Sales desks and consultation areas
What approvals might you need in Devon?
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
- Working displays such as taps or appliances need water and waste runs planned at the start.
- Design the display walls to be demountable so ranges can change without rebuilding.
