Shop refurbishment and refit in Barnstaple
Owners opening or refreshing a unit in Barnstaple use our shop refurbishment and refit service to get one contract, one programme and one point of contact.
A shop refurbishment updates an existing unit: new finishes, lighting, fixtures and layout, from a light refresh while you trade to a full strip-out and refit.
How is the work priced?
For Barnstaple jobs we confirm loading and parking arrangements early, because access often shapes the programme as much as the build itself.
In and around Barnstaple we are usually asked to work on convenience stores and off-licences and salons, barbers and beauty clinics.
What is included?
- Redecoration and new finishes
- Lighting upgrade to LED
- Replacement fixtures and counters

What should Barnstaple owners check first?
- Older units may contain asbestos; a refurbishment survey is needed before strip-out.
- Switching to LED lighting cuts running costs and heat load.
- Reusing sound fixtures can take a large slice off the cost.
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
