Shop refurbishment and refit in Kendal
We carry out shop refurbishment and refit in Kendal and the surrounding parts of Cumbria, managing every trade from strip-out to a clean handover.
A shop refurbishment updates an existing unit: new finishes, lighting, fixtures and layout, from a light refresh while you trade to a full strip-out and refit.
How do we plan the job?
Every shop refurbishment and refit quote for Kendal lists each element separately, so you can see what the layout, joinery, services and finishes each cost.
In and around Kendal we are usually asked to work on cafés, takeaways and independent restaurants and pharmacies and healthcare premises.
What is included?

- Condition survey of the existing fit-out
- Strip-out and waste removal
- Redecoration and new finishes
- Lighting upgrade to LED
What should Kendal owners check first?
- Older units may contain asbestos; a refurbishment survey is needed before strip-out.
- Switching to LED lighting cuts running costs and heat load.
- Reusing sound fixtures can take a large slice off the cost.
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
