Shop roller shutters are steel or aluminium curtains that roll into a box above the shopfront, closed at night to protect the glass and stock. Perforated and grille types let light and window display show through.
What happens at the survey?
For Newquay jobs we confirm loading and parking arrangements early, because access often shapes the programme as much as the build itself.
In and around Newquay we are usually asked to work on salons, barbers and beauty clinics and showrooms and trade counters.
What is included?

What should Newquay owners check first?
- Externally fitted shutters often need planning permission, and some councils prefer internal grilles.
- Your insurer may specify the security rating it wants.
- Electric shutters need safety edges or photocells to stop them closing on people.
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
