Retail shopfitting is the design, manufacture and installation of everything inside a shop that lets it trade: walls, ceilings, lighting, flooring, display fixtures, counters, fitting rooms and the services behind them.
What happens at the survey?
Every retail shopfitting quote for Doncaster lists each element separately, so you can see what the layout, joinery, services and finishes each cost.
In and around Doncaster we are usually asked to work on showrooms and trade counters and high street units and corner shops.
What is included?
- Measured survey and floor plan
- Strip-out and making good
- Partitions, drylining and ceilings
- Lighting, power and data first fix
- Display walls, gondolas and counters
What should Doncaster owners check first?
- Landlord consent and the lease's fit-out guide usually need sign-off before work starts.
- Shopfitting inside a trading centre often has to run out of hours, so ask for a night-work price early.
- Fire alarm, emergency lighting and escape signage must be commissioned and certified before you open.
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
