Retail shopfitting for Frome businesses
We carry out retail shopfitting in Frome and the surrounding parts of Somerset, managing every trade from strip-out to a clean handover.
Retail shopfitting is the design, manufacture and installation of everything inside a shop that lets it trade: walls, ceilings, lighting, flooring, display fixtures, counters, fitting rooms and the services behind them.
How is the work priced?
Before we price retail shopfitting in Frome, we check the lease, the landlord's fit-out rules, the existing services and how materials can get into the unit.
In and around Frome we are usually asked to work on high street units and corner shops and shopping centre units and retail park stores.
What is included?
- Strip-out and making good
- Partitions, drylining and ceilings
- Lighting, power and data first fix
- Display walls, gondolas and counters
- Flooring, decorating and final clean
What should Frome owners check first?
- Fire alarm, emergency lighting and escape signage must be commissioned and certified before you open.
- Landlord consent and the lease's fit-out guide usually need sign-off before work starts.
- Shopfitting inside a trading centre often has to run out of hours, so ask for a night-work price early.
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
