Convenience store and supermarket fit-out in Nottinghamshire
Our convenience store and supermarket fit-out team works across Nottinghamshire and the wider East Midlands, taking projects from first survey to final clean in towns including Beeston, Nottingham, Mansfield.
A convenience store fit-out lays out shelving, refrigeration, counters and security so a small footprint can carry a wide range and be run by one or two staff.
What is shopfitting like in Nottinghamshire?
In Nottinghamshire we mostly see salons, barbers and beauty clinics and boutiques and independent retailers. Each has its own landlord rules, service loads and access limits, which we look at on the first visit.
East Midlands town centres combine older Victorian parades with newer precincts, and many fit-outs involve updating dated units for food, beauty and convenience retailers.
What does the work include?
- Gondola and wall shelving runs
- Chiller and freezer positions with dedicated power
- Counter with tobacco gantry and lottery space
- CCTV, intruder alarm and security shutters
What approvals might you need in Nottinghamshire?
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
- Tobacco and vapes must be stored out of sight of customers, so the gantry needs closing doors or shutters.
- Refrigeration needs dedicated circuits and ventilation space; confirm the supply capacity before ordering chillers.
