How do we plan the job?
Before we price bespoke shop joinery and counters in Kendal, we check the lease, the landlord's fit-out rules, the existing services and how materials can get into the unit.
In and around Kendal we are usually asked to work on salons, barbers and beauty clinics and cafés, takeaways and independent restaurants.
What is included?
- Workshop drawings for approval
- Counters and cash desks
- Display cabinets, lockable and lit
- Wall units and shelving
- Laminate, veneer and painted finishes
What should Kendal owners check first?
- Hard-wearing edges matter more than the face finish on busy counters.
- Allow time for drawing approval before manufacture starts.
- Counters should include a lowered section for wheelchair users.
In England, fit-out work that affects fire escape, structure, drainage or accessibility falls under the Building Regulations and is signed off by local authority or approved inspector building control. Shopfronts, extraction flues and illuminated signs are dealt with separately by the local planning authority.
