Aluminium shopfronts contractors in Aberdeen
Need aluminium shopfronts in Aberdeen? We survey the unit, draw the layout with you and give a fixed, itemised price before anything is ordered.
An aluminium shopfront is the glazed frame, doors and stallriser that make up the front of a shop, made to measure in powder-coated aluminium with toughened or laminated safety glass.
What happens at the survey?
Every aluminium shopfronts quote for Aberdeen lists each element separately, so you can see what the layout, joinery, services and finishes each cost.
In and around Aberdeen we are usually asked to work on cafés, takeaways and independent restaurants and salons, barbers and beauty clinics.
What is included?
- Toughened or laminated safety glass
- Single, double or automatic doors
- Level threshold and accessible door handles
- Stallriser and fascia panel
- Measured survey of the opening
What should Aberdeen owners check first?
- A new shopfront usually needs planning permission, and more in a conservation area.
- Entrance doors should give a clear opening width that suits wheelchair users.
- Laminated glass holds together if broken, which helps security.
In Scotland, most fit-out work that alters the building needs a building warrant from the local authority before work starts, followed by a completion certificate. Planning permission and advertisement consent are separate, and Scottish councils publish their own shopfront design guidance.
